The other main works were in the Explorers Lounge which we have also carried out on Volendam, Noordam and Zaandam. The works included removal of existing fixed seating and bulkheads. We pre fabricated a new 10 metre long perimeter bulkhead to give privacy from the main walkway and created a walkway round the lounge area in wood effect Ceramic tiles. We fabricated a new stage area, including new bulkheads and re located the existing sound system from the old stage area. We installed new furniture, redecorated and french polished the complete area. The other works we carried out included New B15 bulkhead panelling in the Gym & Spa areas. New tiling to the men & female changing rooms. We carried out additional works in the hair salon where the existing floor was damaged and a safety hazard. We sourced tiles from our local suppliers in Germany that the client was happy with and as it was 4 days before the ship went back into service, we flew a team of tilers out to carry these works out and complete before the vessel went back into service.
We carried out an upgrade to the Canaletto speciality restaurant which included new signage, new etched glass panels, privacy fixed screens and various decorating, electrical and polishing works. Alongside this we carried out refurbishment in the Explorers Café, the 2 tiered La Fontaine restaurant and The Ocean Bar. We pre fabricated a new single piece aluminium lightweight deckhead complete with LED lighting and refurbished the rest of the cab.
The team finished on time with most trades programmed to finish before the end of the dry dock period to allow them to fly out to join the Zaandam for the beginning of the fourth refit. The Client was extremely pleased with sign off including no snags.
